Grief

Grief is an overwhelming emotion for people, regardless of whether their sadness stems from the loss of a loved one or from a terminal diagnosis.  They might find themselves feeling numb and removed from daily life, unable to carry on with regular duties while saddled with their grief and guilt.

Grief is the natural reaction to loss, and is both a universal and personal experience. Individual experiences of grief vary and are influenced by the nature of the loss. Some examples of loss include the death of a loved one, the ending of an important relationship, job loss, loss through theft or the loss of independence through disability.

Unfortunately, grief is an inevitable, inescapable part of life.  We will all lose someone we love at some point in our life—most of us at many points; and the loss can often hit us harder than we expected.  If we feel really knocked off our feet or are struggling for a prolonged period of time, that may be a sign that we need some inspirational encouragement to move forward within our lives.
